Large, Red Berries
- Very sweet with good flavor
- Excellent for fresh eating
- Produces 1-3 pints per plant
- Bears fruits for months
- Disease-resistant plants
Symmetrical, large berries have an intense red color inside and out. Their beautiful appearance is matched only by their exceptionally sweet taste. This may be why Albion Strawberry is becoming a very popular berry with home & market growers. Its fruits are excellent for fresh eating, pies, preserves, and freezing. An everbearing variety, Albion strawberry exhibits resistance to verticillium wilt and phytophthora crown rot. Produces 1-3 pints per plant. Bears fruits from May to August. Everbearing strawberry plants, like Albion, do not send out as many runners as June-bearing plants. Self-pollinating. However, it is advised to have 3 or more strawberry plants for improved pollination & yield.
To get the high yields it is capable of producing, this variety will need a stronger watering and nutrient program than any other everbearer. Wider plant spacing will deliver the largest berries.
